Health and Safety Officer (Executive)

Job Profile:
JCDecaux India is looking for an enthusiastic Health and Safety Officer for BIAL project, who will ensure that the company meets our statutory obligations and drive the continuous improvement of H&S throughout the project. Based in Bangalore, you will facilitate the ongoing development of H&S policies and practices to make sure all our people are adhering to these standards.

Key Deliverables:
•    Business Support
  1. Working closely with the Management to constantly assess and amend the health and safety strategy as per our group standards and to facilitate compliance with local laws, identifying opportunities for health and safety improvements, and sharing best practices across the location
  2. Build relationships with key stakeholders within & outside the organization including corporate and regional level
  3. Apply group H&S policy and monitor and review H&S trends within the company to identify areas of improvement
  4. Develop and improve H&S culture of assigned locations
  5. Engage with partners and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact.
  6. Ensure all H&S committees, training, and coaching needs are fulfilled
  7. Ensure proper documentation as per the group & local requirement
  8. Communicating positive H&S performance effectively to both internal and external stakeholders
•    Technical Support
  1. Able to identify foreseeable hazards and suggest reasonably practicable control measures
  2. Conduct site audits and inspections in the different companies’ offices and warehouses
  3. Be proactively vigilant & looks for Unsafe Acts/Conditions for timely mitigation
  4. Able to impart in-house safety training to office & operation employees
  5. Timely reporting of accidents/incidents to the H&S committee and conducting thorough investigations and submission of the report to the committee
  6. Provide support, guidance, and advice on all H&S matters

  1. Ability to liaise at all levels from Senior Management to Apprentices & clients
  2. A high standard of personal presentation
  3. Excellent communication skills (Both Oral & Written) in English. Proficiency in local/regional language(s) will be an added advantage

Educational Qualification:
•    Graduation: Any Field (including WHS/EHS, Engineering/Science background will be preferred)
•    Post-Graduation/PGD/AD in HSE/Industrial Safety
•    Certifications from IOSH/NEBOSH

Experience:
•    2 -5 years experience working in H&S (on-field experience mandatory)
•    Experience with operation staff would be a distinct advantage
•    Excellent knowledge of Computer and MS Office (excel, word, ppt, etc)
•    Must be aware of the important Workplace/Environment Health & Safety regulations of the Operating Country

Mandatory requirement:
•    Own Conveyance
•    Fair knowledge of Bengaluru routes/locations
