JCDecaux strikes gold as the Media Owner of the Year at OAC 2010
The sixth edition of the Outdoor Advertising Convention (OAC), the expo, convention and awards event for the OOH (out of home) industry organised by VJ Media Works, was held in Mumbai on June 11-12 at the Hotel Renaissance, Powai.
OAC showcases the latest solutions to enable brands, specialists and media concessionaires to deploy more effective OOH campaigns.
The convention is a platform for the confluence of the various stakeholders, including the brands, concessionaires, specialists, regulators and other solution providers. This time, it was based on the theme of 'From fragmentation to fraternity'. It focused on the imperative for everyone in the industry to work together for the growth and development of the industry.
Starting this year, the judging process of the awards was also modified. Till last year, there were two panels of judges, one for the creative awards module and the other for the media awards module. This year we had one Jury judging both creative and media entries. The Jury went through a day long rigorous judging process. In the first round of judging the jury members put in their individuals scores for each entry. Based on the scores, shortlists were prepared. After which the jury members and Jury chairman discussed and debated each shortlist, and the final decision to award happened with a ‘Show of hands’. This entire process sure was action packed. And putting in their sincerest efforts the Jury handpicked this year’s best Outdoor Work.
This year total of 260 entries were received across the categories and total of 48 winners were awarded with Gold ( 15), Silver( 16) and Merit (17)
